The people behind the rock
With a long-term commitment, we manage and develop Kvarntorp Gruvan. We build on the site's industrial history and create new opportunities for businesses and operations, today and for the future.
Our history
From sandstone to new operations
Kvarntorp Gruvan has its roots in the area's long industrial history. During the latter half of the 20th century, sandstone was quarried in the mine, among other things for the production of Mexisten in Kvarntorp.
As early as the 1980s, parts of the underground spaces began to be used for other purposes, including archiving and storage. When quarrying ceased around the turn of the millennium, new opportunities opened up for the facility.
In 2004 the operation was taken over by a family-owned company, and a new chapter in the mine's history began. Since then, the facility has been gradually developed and adapted for new operations.

A long-term commitment
Behind Kvarntorp Gruvan is the Sandén Gustafsson family, who through their family-owned company have managed and developed the facility since 2004.
Today the development is carried forward by Torbjörn Gustafsson together with Caroline and Henrik Sandén Gustafsson. With personal commitment and a long-term perspective, we work to create new opportunities for companies and operations in the mine.
As a family-owned company, we value close collaboration, long-term relationships and the ability to make decisions with a clear focus on the facility's future.

Kvarntorp Gruvan is operated by Svensk Berglagring KB and is part of the family-owned Yxhult Group. The group operates in industry, environment, trade and real estate, with a shared foundation in long-term ownership and development.

Henrik Sandén Gustafsson is responsible for the development and letting of Kvarntorp Gruvan. He is the contact person for companies wishing to establish or develop their operations at the facility.
