Scalability
Operations can be established on a smaller scale and gradually expand into more rock caverns and larger areas within the same facility – without having to relocate.

The Mine
Around 40 metres below ground in Kvarntorp, between Kumla and Örebro, lies 400,000 m² of underground area spread across 390 rock caverns and an extensive internal road network.
Here, large and flexible spaces combine with existing technical infrastructure and a naturally stable climate of around 10–12°C all year round.

Underground
The facility is laid out on a single connected level with around forty kilometres of drivable road underground. Many of the 390 rock caverns measure approximately 100 × 11 × 5 metres and are directly accessible from the internal roads.
The mine is reached via a drivable entrance and accommodates transport with both passenger cars and trucks up to 4 metres in height. This provides favourable logistical conditions and considerable flexibility for operations looking to establish themselves and grow over time.

01
Operations can be established on a smaller scale and gradually expand into more rock caverns and larger areas within the same facility – without having to relocate.
02
The underground environment offers natural protection and good opportunities for controlled access and delimited operational areas – important conditions for operations with high security requirements.
03
The temperature stays around 10–12°C all year round, regardless of weather and season. This creates stable conditions for operations where temperature and environment are important factors.
04
By making use of an already existing underground facility, new operations can be established and grow without a corresponding need for construction and development of new land.
